Charming Inn Experience

professional landladycentral locationconvenient roomfree parking
Karen, the landlady, was professional. The inn has character, I think it is situated conveniently near the town center. The room provided everything needed for a one-night visit. Free parking was a plus (saving time and money).
The room cleanliness was generally satisfactory, yet some areas could benefit from more attention.
Location
9/10
The hotel is positioned just outside the old town walls dating back to the 1200s. I found it convenient to get around. There is also an Indian restaurant close by, along with a market in the mornings, so the area has plenty of dining and shopping options.
Dining
8/10
The food in the bar was really good with generous portions and reasonable prices. I appreciated the cooked breakfasts (especially the bacon!). I thought the staff were helpful when asked about the area and taxi services.

mixed experience , some issues noted

acceptable locationbroken showerrepair delay
the location was acceptable , close to shops and the castle.
the shower did not operate , a significant inconvenience. the manager inspected it but could not repair it immediately, citing the need for a quotation from marstons before any repairs could be authorized. i question whether the following night's occupants were able to use the shower.
